The Zanzibar table is inspired by African influences and includes a rich mix of international woods including European Mappa burl and rails of American Cherry giving the table a striking presence. Solid hand-textured and etched brass surrounds the aprons and leg pedestals for an elegant, sophisticated feel. Perhaps the most unique feature of the table is the African-inspired brass monkeys which support the rail next to each pocket. These supports give the table an exclusively ethnic look with a bold sense of adventure.
“The Zanzibar table blends a rich African history with rare woods and the uniqueness of brass monkeys, giving the table an international flavor and putting in a category of its own,” said Sean Cummings, president Brunswick Billiards. “This table represents world-class design and innovation while maintaining the superior playability and quality Brunswick is known for.”
Named after a small island off East Africa in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar is believed to be the birthplace of Swahili and is a melting pot of Arab, Indian, African and European style. Once the trading center of East Africa, Zanzibar attracted Sumerians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Arabs, Chinese and Malays and was known as the "Spice Island", famous for spices such as cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and others.
The nine-foot Zanzibar table retails for $24,999 and a matching cue rack is available.
